Burning Embers

We all have regrets.
Mostly from when we were young.
Its to late now to fret.
If only we could remember decisions gone unsung.

There is no way to change the past.
Time is never ending and fast.
It will go on forever.
Despite mans many endeavors.

To waste the present dwelling on past regrets is truly a shame.
Learning from the past to improve the future should be our aim.
I know doing this is easier said then done.
Some regrets are harder to cover up then the sun.

That should not stop us from trying.
Even if it makes us feel like dieing.

Restless Nights

I wake with my fists clenched in fear.
The dreams I had that night quickly disappear.
My mind races to recall.
Before I can the thought is gone.

Blood rushes through my veins.
The space it lost is now regained.
There is pain.
So much its a shock to my brain.

I don't live my day in fear.
I wait for night to near and prepare.
Hoping that tonight is the night the dreams are gone.
I wake up the next morning and I was wrong.

Like every morning I wake with my fists clenched.
My cloths and sheets drenched.
How these dreams can make me sweat is unknown.
Maybe tonight these dreams will finally leave me alone.
